2024 session meets for SIX sessions
January 23 – February 27, 2023

Cost: $95

Class size limited to 12 participants

Learn the important fundamentals of watercolor from the comfort of your home!  This structured series of six classes is perfect for those who have never watercolored, as well as those who would like to strengthen existing skills.  Students will learn about supplies, setting up a palette, color mixing, brush handling, and various ways to apply paint to paper. Students will master the crucial balance of water and paint to create washes, vibrant applications of strong color, and colors that mix on the page. We will use only the three primary colors of red, blue and yellow to create and explore a spectrum of colors that will enable us to use our paints with confidence.  Students will paint and learn together as Elizabeth does live demos from her studio, welcoming questions along the way.

Weekly classes will include a demo, prompts and guidance for exploring a skill independently outside of class.  Student work will be shared and commented on each week outside of class time via a Flickr Photo Sharing folder hosted by the instructor. This class is open to all new and previous students.

Suggested materials:  Tubes of quality watercolor in the hues of red, blue and yellow; good-quality watercolor paper; round and flat brushes.  A detailed list of supplies along with purchasing information is available by request and also upon registration.

All class sessions will be held live on Zoom and also recorded and shared with students for viewing at a later time.

RECORDINGS ONLY OPTION:  $42 includes access to all 6 class recordings.
