Nature Journaling with Watercolors (Zoom Class)

Gain basic watercolor skills and knowledge about color mixing as we explore the color wheel while sketching and painting a variety of plants and flowers commonly seen in our natural surroundings.  Instructor will provide a subject to focus on each week via Zoom as she guides students through basic drawing, painting and journaling techniques.  No experience necessary.  Recommended supplies:  pencil, pens, paper or sketchbook, watercolors and a paintbrush. Instructor will provide suggested supply list upon registration. Each weekly session will be recorded and sent to students who are unable to attend the live class. Watercolor for the Very Beginner – Zoom Class

In this very beginner-friendly watercolor class you will gain a strong understanding of the essential skills needed to begin your watercolor painting journey.  Topics include brush handling, color mixing, various ways to apply paint to paper and how to make good color choices.  Each weekly session will be recorded and sent to students who aren’t able to make the live class. Intermediate Watercolor: Next Steps (Zoom Class)

This class is the next level after my “Watercolor for the Very Beginner” class and requires a basic knowledge of watercolor painting techniques.  Build on your knowledge of basic watercolor skills through creative exercises that will give you practice in common painting techniques and further color exploration. Each weekly session will be recorded and sent to students who aren’t able to make the live class.  Basic supply list will be the same as my previous classes and will be provided to new students by the instructor.  Email e.m.higgins@comcast.net to register.

Gather your paper and paints, and enjoy the presence of other students as you take time from your day to enjoy the calming nature of watercolor painting. Continue to develop and practice your basic watercolor skills and discover your personal style while following weekly painting tutorials that will guide you through the completion of a different painting each week.  Follow along with Elizabeth as you explore line, shape, pattern and other elements of design while painting a variety of topics, including still-life, flowers, landscape and abstract composition.  Basic watercolor knowledge is required. NEW! Virtual Private Art Parties via ZOOM

Gather your friends wherever they may be and connect via ZOOM to have fun creating together, while apart! Elizabeth can design a custom event for your family members, group of friends, or kids’ birthday celebration. Choose from painting, nature journaling, collaging, and/or drawing.  Elizabeth will set your group up on a Zoom meeting, provide you with a basic list of necessary supplies, and guide you through an interactive art experience suitable for all ages and skill levels.  Rates start at $85 for an hour-long activity for up to five people.  Contact Elizabeth at e.m.higgins@comcast.net to bounce ideas and get further information.
